and Objective
Economic liberalization and globalizations as well as the spread of information technology have posed several challenges before the materials management function. A computer-based material procurement and stores management system will prove to be most effective by providing the right material of the right quality at the right price at the right time thereby reducing the lead time of procurement.
Proper record-keeping, security and safety of inventory is of utmost importance. Higher inventory holding, is not advisable since it locks up working capital. The need of the hour is to optimize the inventory-holding by implementing an IT-enabled material management system.

At the end of the programme the participants should be able to –

  • Describe the latest trends of e-procurement, e-auction and reverse auction
