Programme Overview
and Objective
Power transformer are the backbone of electrical supply system. Availability and performance of transformers are critical parameters, deciding performance of power plants. This programme is focused on transformers used in power plants, and aims to provide insight into the theoretical and practical aspect of transformers of power plant.

At the end of this programme, the participant shall be able to:

  • Define the Design considerations for the transformers
  • State Operation , Maintenance and Testing and trouble shooting of transformers
  • State the Standards and specifications applicable
  • Describe the new technological developments in transformers
  • Clarify transformer manufacturing and testing procedures during visit to manufacturing shops
