Event Title Workshop on Latest Trends in Gas Turbine
Programme Overview
and Objective
Gas turbine based power plants today dominate new capacity additions in the country. Operating experience worldwide confirms their many benefits in all types of service, including base load operations. However, taking clue from the present level of availability of natural gas for power stations, integrating gas turbine technology into combined cycle gasification plants would offer greater versatility while burning low cost alternate fuels. This program, while consolidating the operation and maintenance experience of combined cycle power plants would also seek the options and technologies available for switching from natural gas to other low cost alternate fuels.

At the end of the programme the participants will be able to:

  • Describe Combined cycle power plants-Indian perspective– New Technologies
  • Describe the New Gas Turbine Maintenance Philosophy and Repair of turbine components
  • Describe the New Repair Techniques
  • Describe the Hot Gas path components tools
  • State the New Techniques for Condition monitoring of gas turbines components
  • Describe the New Cycle design for enhanced efficiency
  • Analyze the New Materials
  • Describe the new coatings
