Event Title Operation and Maintenance of MGR System (For NTPC executives up to the level of E6)
Programme Overview
and Objective
MGR system employs permanently coupled train moving continuously over railway tracks, which connects the linked coal mine to the thermal power station. For maintaining the continuity of coal from pit head to the power station, the operation and maintenance of MGR system e.g. locomotive, wagons, track, signaling communications etc. are closely linked and in case of failure of any link the whole system may collapse.
This programme would bring awareness amongst the participants about the techniques adopted in operation and maintenance of MGR system for its smooth functioning.

On attending the programme, the participants would be able to:

  • Describe various techniques adopted in operation and maintenance of MGR system
  • Analysis and compare effectiveness of the techniques
  • Understand the cost implication of the activities carried out in coal transportation.

Methodology The programme would be delivered through classroom sessions, case studies, model room/workshop visits.  
Who May Attend NTPC executives up to the level of E6 working in Fuel Management group. The programme is not open for other organizations.
