Programme Overview
and Objective |
Condition of equipment can be assessed by employing suitable technologies and deterioration can thereby be monitored. Dexterous use of two or more technologies in condition monitoring has been found to be most effective where one technology complements the other and their strengths are utilized effectively.
Infrared thermography (IRT) provides a non-intrusive measurement of thermal pattern and thermal behavior of plant equipment providing equipment condition information almost instantaneously. It detects changes in temperature that can indicate onset of problems. It can be applied to all equipment in a plant, starting from coal yard to switchyard.Acoustics Technology is another versatile technology, applicable to electrical and mechanical equipment such as transformers, switchyard, bearings, air and vacuum leaks etc. Both the technologies are well complemented by each other. These diagnostic techniques can help in trouble-shooting, as a pre-outage tool to assist outage planning and prove to be a vital technology in support of a Predictive Diagnostics Maintenance.
This Programme would expose plant personnel to wide applications of IRT and acoustics in power plants, interpretation of results, Maintenance Program planning and implementation.
At the end of the programme, the participants shall be able to maximize utilization of available equipment, database preparation, and integration of these technologies with existing technologies / maintenance planning system for effective implementation of Predictive Diagnostics maintenance Programme. |
