With growing stress on energy efficiency in thermal power plant in view of global warming and climate change, energy auditing has now become an important function. NTPC has started energy auditing of its power plant in 1998-99. Govt. of India has also enacted “Energy Conservation Act 2001” to promote energy efficiency in industries and buildings and now in the process of making energy auditing mandatory in power sector. The efficacy of energy audit depends on various factors.
The present course is designed for O&M professionals, particularly engaged in energy efficiency related activities at stations and regional offices to understand various issues related with energy auditing. On completion of training, the participants would be able to
- Understand and state energy audit procedures and techniques being followed in NTPC.
- Describe and analysis various aspects of energy and water conservation in thermal power station.
