Event Title Workshop on Knowledge Based Maintenance REAP & RCM
Programme Overview
and Objective
Maintenance is now being looked upon as a discipline which has high impact on the performance of power plant. The need for excellence and sustaining the high performance require a re-look at the maintenance strategy in power generating utilities. There is need to identify maintenance requirements of a machine in its operating context and define maintenance strategies. These strategies must focus on specific equipment needs. NTPC has evolved a maintenance road map having various steps. Each step includes elements of experiential learning and evaluation of maintenance requirement. This program focuses on maintenance road map, various stages of maintenance. It will help participants understand predictive maintenance, pro-active maintenance, reliability centred maintenance and risk evaluation & prioritization. It will enable participants understand the needs of these programs, and interrelationships between various maintenance strategies. It will help in rationalisation of maintenance against the defined maintenance objectives.

Program would provide senior & middle level NTPC plant personnel with an overview of Knowledge based maintenance model, share latest developments, demonstrate how to evaluate success, obtain a better understanding of power plant needs and how can it be better addressed.

At the end of the programme, the participants shall be able to-

  • Define various maintenance strategies Define basic concepts of RCM
  • Describe the Concepts on risk evaluation and prioritization
  • State different applications of risk evaluation
  • Analyse the financial impacts of  decision making  in maintenance
  • Analysing the case studies on typical power plant components
  • Evaluate success of Maintenance programme.
